The Provincial Government has extended the program for the rebate of the Land Transfer Tax to all homes. Prior to December 13th, 2007, it was limited to newly-constructed homes, but now the program is applicable to previously-occupied homes as well.
Long a feature in American real estate transactions, title insurance has only recently gained popularity in Ontario commercial and residential real estate transactions. Title insurance is essentially an insurance policy issued by an insurance company to provide compensation in the event that there are legal issues affecting your ownership interest in your property.
